This was a full, beautiful, perfectly Charleston day: getting ready at the iconic Francis Marion Hotel in downtown Charleston, lush florals from Marigo Flowers filling every corner of the room, and a wedding ceremony and reception at one of the most beloved wedding venues in all of South Carolina. And yes — it rained. And yes — it was absolutely perfect.
About Boone Hall Plantation as a Wedding Venue
Boone Hall Plantation is one of the most iconic wedding venues in Charleston, South Carolina — and honestly, one of the most iconic in the entire American South. The Avenue of Oaks alone, with its three-quarter-mile canopy of ancient live oaks draped in Spanish moss, makes it unlike anywhere else in the world.
What we love most about photographing at Boone Hall is the variety of light and setting throughout the day. The grounds offer a dozen distinct backdrops — from the formal symmetry of the oak avenue to the open field behind the cotton dock, to the intimate brick buildings that date back centuries. Every corner of this property photographs beautifully, and the Lowcountry light at golden hour here is something we genuinely look forward to every single time.

The reception was held under a stunning tent from Quest Events Charleston, styled beautifully with rentals from JC Rental Collective. The combination of those two teams meant the space felt elevated, warm, and totally intentional — exactly what you’d expect from a wedding planned by the incredible Madelyn Tenney Events.
