the art of posing

A georgia & Micah course

Your new complete roadmap to elevating your posing skills and mastering your client experience

You’re talented. You’re determined. You’re booking clients.

But there's that one moment, every session, where a client looks at you with that blank, slightly nervous expression and says: "So… what do you want me to do?"

And something in you tightens.
Because the truth is, you're not totally sure.

You have a vision. You know what looks good when you see it. But translating that vision into clear, confident direction? Into poses that feel natural, not stiff? That actually flatter different body types, different couples, different families with three kids under five who won't stop moving?

That part hasn't fully clicked yet.
So you wing it. You keep scrolling Pinterest at midnight for inspo. You deliver galleries you're mostly proud of, with a few frames you quietly wish had been stronger.

Does this sound like you?

You can't edit your way out of a bad pose. Most photographers spend years perfecting their editing, their gear, their brand and almost no time learning how to actually direct people.

And it costs them. Not just in weaker images. In confidence. In the experience they're creating for their clients.
Here's what's really happening in the sessions that don't feel right:

Your clients are nervous and waiting to be led And when you hesitate, they feel it

You're running through the same three "safe" poses on repeat because you don't have a full toolkit

You avoid certain scenarios because you're not sure how to handle them confidently

You're so focused on the technical side of the shoot that there's nothing left over for creative directing

The session feels like a scramble — and your clients can tell

Your Clients Don't Know How to Pose. That's Your Job And This Is How You Do It.

The Art of Posing is the complete course for photographers who want to direct with confidence, create genuine connection, and deliver images their clients obsess over — every single time.

In this introductory module, you will learn the basics of camera settings, auto focus settings for movement based photos, and our exact gear we use. You will also learn about composition & lighting and how that plays a big part in your photos.

Camera Settings, Composition & Lighting

We go in depth on the mindset of posing in this module. Included is the recording of a podcast interview.

The Mindset

We go in depth on how we prepare our clients for our time together, including several templates such as our questionnaires, moodboards and an investment guide.

Client Prepartion

This module is a beast. With a video all about couples posing along with BTS footage from sessions in downtown rural settings to beach posing.

Posing for Couples

This module covers how to pose and direct on a fast-paced wedding day using simple, natural prompts. You’ll learn how to guide couples and bridal parties through a mix of posed and movement-based moments—walking, laughing, interacting, and building real connection—while staying adaptable, reading group dynamics, and using what naturally unfolds.

Wedding Day Posing

In this module, you’ll learn how to approach family sessions in a way that feels natural, connected, and true to the people in front of you. We’ll cover how to prepare families before the shoot, choose meaningful locations or activities, guide movement and interaction without forcing moments, and create genuine connection through a more documentary-style approach to posing and storytelling.

Posing for Familes

In this module, you’ll learn how to confidently guide couples who may feel awkward or tense in front of the camera by using natural movement, simple prompts, and easy-to-follow posing. We’ll also cover how to work with different dynamics and body types, create variety through composition and environment, and approach maternity sessions in a way that feels connected, emotional, and natural.

Difficult Situations & Takeaways

I no longer go into a session trying to memorize a ton of poses and panicking because I fail every time

If you are a hands on & visual learner, you NEED The Art of Posing Course created by Georgia and Micah!
Posing was my number one struggle and I was needing something that taught me how to create the pose instead of just telling me to create the pose.  The Art of Posing does just that! From the basics of camera gear and settings to tons of real life examples at real sessions, I felt like I was being taught in person.
The in depth explanations, posing beyond just couples, lighting, composition, Georgia knows exactly how to bring all these concepts together that really made me feel confident. I feel confident, and am able to provide my clients with a whole other experience that I was missing out on before.

You walked into every single session knowing exactly what you were doing?
Not just with one type of client. Not just on a good day. But consistently, whether you're shooting a fresh-faced couple on an engagement session, a wedding party of twelve, or a family of five where the toddler has already cried twice before you've taken a single frame.

That's what The Art of Posing is built to give you.

I believe in doing great work and being nice to people

We didn’t create this posing course because we had it all figured out, we created it because we remember exactly what it felt like not to.
When we first started photographing couples, posing felt like the thing that either made or broke a session. We’d second guess ourselves, over-direct, or freeze in the moment trying to make everything look “perfect”… and it never felt like us. More importantly, it didn’t feel like them.
We’re Micah & Georgia, a husband and wife photo duo. For the past few years, we’ve been documenting couples and weddings all over the world, building a business rooted in storytelling, trust, and real moments. Our work isn’t about stiff poses or forced smiles—it’s about capturing what’s already there, and guiding it in a way that feels effortless and true to each couple.
This course is everything we wish we had when we started.
Inside, we’re not just giving you a list of poses to memorize—we’re teaching you how to see, how to guide, and how to create moments that unfold naturally in front of your lens. You’ll learn how to direct without over-directing, how to build instant connection with your clients, and how to walk into any session with confidence instead of pressure.

Over time, everything shifted. We stopped focusing on poses and started focusing on people. On connection

On creating space for our couples to actually feel something, instead of just perform for the camera. That’s where our approach to posing was born. But what really makes this different… is the way we show up for you. We’re not here to be distant educators—we’re here to be in it with you. To give you the tools, the mindset, and the behind-the-scenes insight that actually changes the way you shoot. The kind of support we wish we had when we were figuring it all out ourselves.
Because posing isn’t about putting people into a box. It’s about helping them feel seen.
And when you can do that, you don’t just take better photos… you create something your clients will feel for the rest of their lives.
